MST-BAR® 15M Grade III Fiberglass Rebar (GFRP)

MST-BAR® Grade III is a glass fibre reinforced polymer (GFRP) rebar for structural concrete. Every size has a guaranteed tensile strength of 1,000 MPa (145 ksi), more than twice the 60 ksi yield strength of steel rebar, at roughly a quarter of the weight. It doesn’t rust, doesn’t conduct electricity and has very low thermal conductivity, so it suits coastal and salt-exposed sites, areas near high-voltage lines or magnetic fields, and any job where corrosion would shorten the life of a steel-reinforced structure.

The bar is integrally ribbed, which locks it mechanically into the concrete with no sand coating. Each bar is marked with its size, grade and standard so you can check it on site.

Use it wherever steel rebar is specified: ICF walls and foundations, footings, slabs, agricultural buildings, pools and patios, parking garages, and roads and bridges. Structural use should follow an engineered design or an approved prescriptive design. In ICF walls, the horizontal and vertical black steel in the 2021 ICFMA Prescriptive Design for Part 9 Buildings in Canada can be replaced one to one with MST-BAR, within the limits set out in the Stealth Engineering letter. Lintel reinforcement is increased by bundling each bar with one size smaller bar.
