IntegraSpec ICF Building System

6 Steps.
Built into 1 Wall.

One IntegraSpec wall does the work of six separate steps in a conventional build – structure, insulation, furring studs, vapour and air barrier, and sheathing. Select a layer to see what each one does.

Reinforced Concrete Core 4" to 12" +
Structural

Horizontal and vertical steel reinforcement, cast into a poured concrete core — a monolithic reinforced-concrete shear wall that carries the structural load.

Continuous EPS R-22 + Higher
Insulation

2-1/2″ of high-density expanded polystyrene (EPS) on both faces of the wall, R-22 and higher of continous insulation with no thermal bridging.

Built-In Studs 8" O.C
Furring Strips

Vertical furring strips, 1-⅝” wide and spaced 8″ on centre, are thermally bonded into both panels — providing a continuous strip for fastening drywall, cladding, trim and more.

Built Into The Assembly
Vapour Barrier

EPS on the interior face and cast concrete behind it both resist vapour movement, so moisture is controlled within the wall itself rather than by a separate poly sheet.

Monolithic, seamless
Air Barrier

Airtightness comes from the poured concrete core, the wall has no gaps or seams, drafts and air leakage are eliminated.

Finish-Ready
Sheathing

The ICF panels act as your sheathing on both sides of the wall. This translates to saving time, materials and labor compared to a conventional wall.

questions.

Insulated concrete forms (ICF) are rigid Expanded Polystyrene also known as EPS forms that stay in place to form an exterior wall, reinforced with steel or fiberglass rebar and filled with concrete. Stacked and interlocked, they go up like blocks, which is why they are also called ICF blocks. Once the concrete cures, the forms stay in place permanently and act as continuous insulation on both faces of a structural concrete wall.

Foundations, full-height homes, multi-residential, commercial and institutional buildings, retaining walls and pools — anywhere you would use a wall.

Lower energy bills, superior strength, up to 4-hour fire resistance, dramatic sound reduction and fewer trades on site, since structure, insulation and air barrier go up in one step.

Wall costs are typically slightly higher up front, but the gap is often recovered through reduced labour, fewer trades and long-term energy savings.

Both give you a reinforced concrete wall. The difference is everything around it. With a conventionally formed wall, you strip the forms, then pay for the material and labour to frame, insulate and add a vapour barrier afterward. With ICF, the forms stay in place and all of that is already built into the wall, which saves time on the schedule and consolidates several trades into one.

Yes. Drywall screws into the built-in furring strips molded into the panels — no strapping required.

Yes. The EPS insulates the curing concrete, which extends Ontario’s building season well into the colder months.

Experience helps, and we provide it. TruForm offers free hands-on IntegraSpec installer training on your jobsite for contractors and owner-builders.
